Mental Health Week-10 Tips for Mental Health wellness


1. Spend less time on social media and more time with yourself. Prioritising self-care is vital for mental health. Take time each day to do something that makes you feel good.

2. Allow yourself to cry and release the overwhelming feeling you have.

3. Meditation is key to helping reduce anxiety, stress and improve cognitive function.

4. Connect with loved one who can make you laugh or listen to your worries.

5. Get out in the sun and get some movement. Physical activity releases endorphins, which can help improve mood and reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety. Aim for at least 30 minutes of physical activity each day.

6. Listen to some happy music and dance around your living room or watch some stand-up comedy.

7. Doodle, draw or paint to help distract your brain when you find yourself overthinking

8. Eat nutritious foods daily like green leafy vegetables, oily fish (salmon, sardines, herring, mackerel, anchovies), nuts & seeds and fermented foods (kimchi, sauerkraut, kefir or kombucha) daily.

9. Before getting out of bed, tell yourself it’s going to be a good day. The brain listens to everything, so positive talk is essential.

10. Get enough sleep: Lack of sleep can contribute to feelings of anxiety and depression. Aim for 7-8 hours of sleep each night and establish a consistent sleep routine.
